It is my understanding that apt-get works well in these situations -- did you mean that *aptitude* wants to remove those packages? If you must install foreign-arch packages and aptitude gives you grief, use another package manager. > I vote to give this bug > critical status. > While I'm certain that some people have attempted to fix this (myself included), to my knowledge there is no one doing this currently. Twiddling the bug status is not going to change anyone's priorities[1] nor will it magically conjure a fix. Aptitude's developers are volunteers. Ubuntu provides other package managers which do not have this problem. I suspect that "voting" with your hands by submitting a patch will be far more effective. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/831768 Title: aptitude cannot handle conflicts with multiarch enabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/aptitude/+bug/831768/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
