Public bug reported: I use the binary NVidia drivers on a laptop. When I turn on the machine, the first thing I do is open NVidia settings and disable laptop display and enable my two external monitors in Twinview configuration.
This causes the background image to be rendered improperly. The left screen is fine, but the right screen has the background rendered wrong. See the attached screenshot - I used a red line to show where the two monitors split. Worthy of note is the fact that when I enter the activities overview, the background will render correctly while I am in the activities overview, and return to the incorrect rendering when I leave activities ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: gnome-shell 3.4.1-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-24.37-generic 3.2.14 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-24-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu7 Architecture: amd64 Date: Fri May 11 10:19:46 2012 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release amd64 (20120425) ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gnome-shell UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug precise third-party-packages -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/998072 Title: Background Not Placed Properly with Twinview To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/998072/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
