The distortions have not been happening for some weeks. Instead now I'm experiencing hickups when playing media files over cifs-mounted samba shares, but only once per boot-cycle so far. I could try if this also happens when playing media files from the local hard drive. This kind of behaviour is showing up since the latest kernel security upgrade.
Looks like wild guessing, but the only changes to the affected systems come through security updates. -- (libxine-main1, Dapper, amd64) Sound distortions since security update USN-435-1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/98527 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
