I do not know what source package this bug pertains to - but it seems to be an X issue. When I restart X, it is gone. When I exit to a console, it is not there. What part of X, though, I don't know. It seems very unlikely that it is related to my WM (i3), as the chance that the user who first reported this bug also uses i3 is slim at best. The common denominator between that user an me is the x2oo laptop and X under 12.04.
