Public bug reported: After installing Ubuntu 12.04, I went to jockey and checked for and Proprietary Drivers.
There was 2 options: ATI FGLRX Driver(post-release-update) and the ATI FGLRX driver(without anything). I tried installing the post-release-update one. After about 10 minutes, it said: "Sorry, installation of this driver failed. Please have a look at the log file for details: /var/log/jockey.log" I went to /var/log then opened jockey.log . It was about 200 lines long(didn't know what it was talking about). So I installed the second option and it causes the system to become unstable(ugly boot screen, shutting down takes forever) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: jockey-gtk 0.9.7-0ubuntu7 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-24.37-generic-pae 3.2.14 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-24-generic-pae i686 NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu7 Architecture: i386 Date: Sat May 5 10:42:07 2012 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/jockey-gtk InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release i386 (20120423) InterpreterPath: /usr/bin/python2.7 MachineType: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
