Public bug reported:

No problems in earlier versions of Ubuntu with either Lenovo Ideapad
Y530 with Intel chips or Acer Aspire1 using amd chips, but with new
versions problems with Lenovo (not sure of acer now). Also tried Mint
Linux-12, that also fails with Lenovo - never used this OS before, just
checking.

Upon one install I did see a message stating that a driver was missing
for intel. This was provided automatically previously but not three
years ago. Every minute the system asks for password to connect and
always fails.

Also with g and x versions of Precise on both Lenovo and Acer: SUSPEND
and HIBERNATE not working. Same for Mint on Lenovo.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
