@ Dagnachew, Swami, Steve: I've noticed that in Dagnachew's output the power management has changed to 1 while his acoustic management setting is 128 after changing etc/hdparm.conf.
My disk is still spinning down after adding apm_battery=128. Can it be that some disks interpret a power management setting mistakenly as acoustic management or both?
