ok run some more testing using the following command, pluging in and out the headphones in the jack sockets.
shane@Aspire-8930:~$ sudo hda-jack-sense-test [sudo] password for shane: Pin 0x15 (Black HP Out): present = Yes Pin 0x18 (Pink Mic): present = No Pin 0x1a (Blue Line In): present = No shane@Aspire-8930:~$ sudo hda-jack-sense-test Pin 0x15 (Black HP Out): present = No Pin 0x18 (Pink Mic): present = No Pin 0x1a (Blue Line In): present = No shane@Aspire-8930:~$ sudo hda-jack-sense-test Pin 0x15 (Black HP Out): present = No Pin 0x18 (Pink Mic): present = Yes Pin 0x1a (Blue Line In): present = No shane@Aspire-8930:~$ sudo hda-jack-sense-test Pin 0x15 (Black HP Out): present = No Pin 0x18 (Pink Mic): present = No Pin 0x1a (Blue Line In): present = Yes As you can see from here the jack is being detected, but still the Speakers are not being muted seems like they are tied some how with the headphones, cos when I open alsamixer and mute the speaker controls the headphones mute also, but they stay mute unless I cycle the front speakers, rear speakers and LFE speaker, then the sound returns in both speakers and headphones. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/941219 Title: Speaker Sound does not mute when Headphones are connected.
