Well, if this workaround works, it means it's not an issue in Ubuntu (and certainly not in rfkill), but something to do with how the device is initialized; in the BIOS.
You may wish to consider upgrading your BIOS to the latest available from Lenovo, if there is an update. Since this is not a bug in Ubuntu (things work if it's not the first boot device), I'm closing this as Invalid: there's just nothing we can do about it in this case. ** Changed in: rfkill (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/968103 Title: Lenovo S205 with Ralink 3090 deactivates Wlan during Installation of Ubuntu 12.04 Beta To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rfkill/+bug/968103/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
