I seem to identify the cause of the issue. As of Precise global shortcuts began to depend on current layout, which is wrong.
Say, I assign the global shortcut Ctrl+Alt+Shift+D to run an application. But if I have Russian layout selected in the current application, the system translates it into Ctrl+Alt+Shift+"Cyrillic ve" and ignores it. Global shortcuts depending on current keyboard layout in the application is a sort of nonsense, I suppose. ** Summary changed: - Keyboard shortcuts don't work properly + Global keyboard shortcuts should not depend on current layout ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #674892 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=674892 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/990957 Title: Global keyboard shortcuts should not depend on current layout To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/990957/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
