** Description changed:

  Hi there!

  CPU frequency scaling doesn't work on my HP Pavilion dv6258eu notebook,
  powernow-k8 seems to have problems with my BIOS, first some information:

  Notebook Model: HP Pavilion dv6258eu
  BIOS version: F.1A
  System Board ID: 30B8
  Processor Type: AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-50 (1600MHz)
  Memory: 2048 MB
+ OS: Ubuntu Feisty Fawn
+
+ $ uname -a
+ Linux nils-laptop 2.6.20-16-generic #2 SMP Thu Jun 7 20:19:32 UTC 2007 i686
GNU/Linux

  (for full dmesg output see attached dmesg.out)
  $ cat dmesg |grep powernow
  [   29.996000] powernow-k8: Found 2 AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology
TL-50 processors (version 2.00.00)
  [ 29.996000] powernow-k8: MP systems not supported by PSB BIOS structure
  [ 30.000000] powernow-k8: MP systems not supported by PSB BIOS structure

  Probably it has to do with the missing/incomplete processor section of my
BIOSes ACPI-Table (see attached dsdt.dsl):
  [...]
  Scope (\_PR)
      {
          Processor (CPU0, 0x00, 0x00001010, 0x06) {}
          Processor (CPU1, 0x01, 0x00001010, 0x06) {}
      }
  [...]

  but I'm not sure how to fix that. I know about
  http://acpi.sourceforge.net/dsdt/view.php, but there is no fixed DSDT
  for my notebook.

  Thanks in advance!
