Public bug reported: I just installed 12.04, and I have one problem that I didn't have with 10.04. The 1080p TV I have plugged into the video card (via a DVI-to- HDMI cable) isn't being detected correctly and the maximum size is 1280x768. xrandr says "xrandr: Failed to get size of gamma for output default. Screen 0: minimum 320 x 175, current 1280 x 768, maximum 1280 x 768". The video card is a GeForce 8600 GT. gnome-control-center --> Displays does not tell me the make and model of the monitor; it just says "laptop," which is incorrect.
