Public bug reported:

When I want to remove software, clicking "Remove" often doesn't work.
For instance, I prefer Quod Libet over Rhythmbox. So I selected Rhythmbox in
Software Center, and clicked Remove.
Two dialogs pop up: one for your password, and one showing that additional
packages will be removed. After that, Software Center starts removing, and
shows a progress bar to the right of the package being removed.

After a while, activity stops. And Rhythmbox is still installed.

I had to repeat this Remove-routine FOUR TIMES before Rhythmbox was
actually removed from my system. And the same applies to other packages,
but the number of neccessary repetitions is different every time. I had
to repeat the process 'just' two or three times for every LibreOffice
component (Calc, Writer, Draw and Impress).
