Seeing same problem on Ubuntu 11.04 on a few identically configured machines (lab of 200; problem affected 3!). Appears to be some corruption in /var/lib/apt-xapian-index.
Cause unknown, but a simple workaround that works for me (on all 3 broken PCs) is: rm -rf /var/lib/apt-xapian-index After this, update-apt-xapian-index completes successfully. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/647500 Title: update-apt-xapian-index crashed with ValueError in setupIndexing() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt-xapian-index/+bug/647500/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
