his happens to my Dell Inspiron 6400 too having bcm4318. I also use ndiswrapper. The symptoms are the exact same. I also attach the syslog file where Network Manager debug messages indicate that nm_device_802_11_wireless_set_essid () cannot set the ESSID to ''. This istallation of Feisty is a pure install with stock ndiswrapper and Network Manager. (This come from #73759 but this bug is more specific) Ps.: I also has perfectly working wireless network under Edgy.
