I'm seeing very similar issues, with a similar stack in dmesg in 3.2.0-24-generic-pae in X (from linux-image-3.2.0.24-generic- pae/3.2.0-24.37)
Manifests itself as X going black for a second or two before redispaying the desktop, unreliable input after it comes back and general flakiness. Occasional hangs.
