Joe H.: Here's the Python script that hda_analyzer spit out for me. I don't understand what it's doing, but it works for me. Maybe you'll be lucky and have it work on your machine too. It doesn't look like it needs any special packages, so it should run for you. Note that it needs to be run as root to have the permissions it needs. (And of course, you should never run scripts from strangers on the internet as root...)
Can you tell me if you're getting a good bass sound out of the speakers? HP has offered to take the computer in for repairs, but I'd like to know whether I'll see much of an improvement for giving up my computer for a few weeks. ** Attachment added: "Python script output by hda_analyzer" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/971224/+attachment/3104315/+files/fourspeakers.py -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/971224 Title: [HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC, IDT 92HD81B1X5, Speaker, Internal] No bass, only 2/4 speakers working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/971224/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
