I'm not sure that this is actually a duplicate of bug #3731 . I've used
sis cards before and they put out some very strange default modelines.
Things like the framebuffer will fail on LCD monitors due to "quirky"
refresh rates being chosen by default. You don't get a crash, you just
don't get a picture...
