Why is this a wishlist? This upgrade over 1 year ago improved 11 translations, fixed minor bugs, improved several core functions, and moved to GTK 3.0. Seems like a no brainer that this should be packaged and included! Repositories is a key advantage to Ubuntu. If as Ubuntu ages, I begin to have to seek out updated software from source developers instead of the repositories, then the advantage is lost! Please consider moving this up in priority for implementation soon after Precise's release.
