If we can't find a way to fix the issue, can we at least blacklist the module? This would at least allow the users to boot up a live cd and install precise. Their wifi will not work, but they can then use ndiswrapper to install the windows drivers, which seem to work.
If things stay as they are now, users of the affected wifi cards can' even boot precise. They will get stuck with a black screen and a computer doing nothing. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/839019 Title: bringing up 10ec:8185 wifi module freezes the system To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/839019/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
