I'm also having the problem. Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook C-Series laptop with Realtek 8139 NIC. Up to date Ubuntu 7.04
I have found a solution, and possibly the problem. It seems the Gnome "NetworkManager Applet" that causes the problem. After resuming from hibernation, the applet keeps trying to get a network address, to no avail. When running either /etc/init.d/networking restart or dhclient, they report successfully binding a DHCP assigned address, but the Applet keeps trying, and no Network contact is possible. However, when clicking "disable Networing" on the applet, then the obtained address' from the two previously mentioned commands stay, and Network access is possible. Seems the NetworkManager Applet is buggy. My suggestion, disable it, I haven't noticed any benefits to it from what was previously there. -- network does not work after resume from hibernate https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/25614 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
