Hello Michael,

Thank you for your reply, I have since discovered that my one of my hard
drives and indeed the one I was trying to install Ubuntu had a problem,
this has since become much more evident and Curry's the shop that I
orignally purchased the drive from have agreed to replace it for me at zero
cost, but I am still waiting for it to arrive. I know that I can put
several different systems on to one hard drive, particularly because I use
1 Terabyte drives but I prefer to use different drives for different
systems even though they are all Linux systems, that way I know that they
cannot interfere with one another and I can easily wipe a drive clean and
start again. So I am waiting for this new drive to arrive and I'll try
again and see how we go. I don't want to cause a wild goose chase. I'll let
you know how I get on and if need be include the logs you mention. Thank
you so much for your attention.

Terry.
