Public bug reported:

A dist-upgrade was done from maverick to natty, from natty to oneiric and from
oneiric to precise.
( through update-manager ).
The upgrades from maveric until oneiric went fine, but from oneiric to precise
the upgrade stopped with libjasper1.
Update-manager was unresponsive so I had to cancel it.
I was able to fix the upgrade with dpkg --configure -a, apt-get -f install and
then a reboot.
