Public bug reported: This is probably a combined bug of emboss and primer3 (2.2.3-1). Expected behavior: eprimer3 program picks primers based on a sequence. What happens: the program returns with "Error: Missing SEQUENCE tag" To reproduce, just type eprimer3 -auto (sequence name)
Apparently eprimer3 is using primer3 to pick primers, but the two don't use the same input sequence syntax, so they can't communicate (Based on this forum thread: http://emboss.open- bio.org/pipermail/emboss/2010-October/004003.html) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: emboss 6.3.1-6ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-22.35-generic-pae 3.2.14 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-22-generic-pae i686 ApportVersion: 2.0-0ubuntu5 Architecture: i386 CheckboxSubmission: 32e836f993415545c1c8d2bc0241795d CheckboxSystem: 669b662da410063cc918e0f60cf6cddf Date: Tue Apr 10 14:14:38 2012 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-Netbook-Remix 9.10 "Karmic Koala" - Release i386 (20091028.4) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=hu_HU:hu:en_US:en TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=hu_HU.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: emboss UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to precise on 2012-04-06 (4 days ago) ** Affects: emboss (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 precise ubuntu-une -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/978257 Title: eprimer3 gives "Missing SEQUENCE tag" error To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/emboss/+bug/978257/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
