Additional info: Gwibber is now showing facebook entries ok. The only change made was to *again* authorise the account [in exactly the same way and with exactlly same details as previous attempts]. This was the fifth authorise attempt since first trying some time ago.
Gwibber, this time, showed facebook entries. On starting Gwibber again today - it is still showing new updates. All good news, it is behaving correctly - I wonder if it was a facebook bug rather than a Gwibber bug? My only worry is that on inspecting the accounts in Gwibber, it still shows the option to "authorise" even though the account has obviously now been authorised. Either way, if nobody else adds to this bug - feel free to change the status of the bug appropriately.
