Sorry, I would be able, given enough time, but I have not the time :-( I already spent my share of time to report this bug in detail, and I cannot spend any more in the next days, I fear. I should be able to spare the time to try things or follow detailed instructions, however. So, if you can build an instrumented gthumb for me to try, I can try it.
