Public bug reported:

In some situations where the strength (or SNR) of the signal coming from the
wifi access point is not very good, network performance becomes close to
unusable: a lot of network operation fail, eternal waits, timeouts, packet
loss, even data corruption.
I have experimented this on several different wifi networks.

I always blamed the strength of the signal and thought it was completely
normal, as all the issues disappear when the computer is nearer to the
AP. But recently I've noticed that other machines (and even mobile
devices) in the same networks and in the same physical places with other
operating system work just fine.

It could still be my hardware, but now I've finally seen that even
Windows on the same machine doesn't have any issue with the same
network, so there's definitely some software issue here.
