Perhaps related. I'm using Gutsy on a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Si-1520 laptop, and when I plug in a USB drive while the laptop is suspended (to RAM), the drive powers up.
I've never thought to check whether it stays on when the laptop is suspended; I assume it does. I thought this odd - I'd expect there to be no power to the USB ports while the laptop is suspended. But I haven't tried it on any other laptop so maybe it's normal?
