** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: compiz

When desktop effects (compiz) is enabled in feisty, some dialog
boxes do not seem to be repainting when they should. The user
can still interact with the dialogs, however, no visual feedback
  occurs.

  Reproducable Examples:
  - With desktop effects enabled, Start "meld" (file/directory difference
viewer). Select File->New and click on the "Directory Comparison"
tab. The tab appears not to switch as the dialog is not repainted.
Also note that none of the usual visual feedback occurs when the
buttons are moused over. The issue does not occur when desktop
  effects is disabled

  - In OpenOffice.org Writer, click Edit->Paste Special. The dialog does
not update visually when different items in the list are selected.
Again, mousing over the buttons gives no feedback.

I have found similar issues in some of the eclipse dialog boxes. The
problem doesn't seem to happen with all dialogs, so i'm not sure whats
  causing it.

I have an intel integrated graphics controller and im using the i810
  graphics driver.

+ Update: This bug appears to be video driver/card specific: it does
+ not occur on my laptop, which uses the nvidia (restricted) driver
