Public bug reported: while ubuntu installation worked on 11.10 with raid1 hardware we were not able to install with 12.04 beta 2. we tried at first the live cd, we partitioned with gparted then started the installation and the first weird thing was that all the partitions were displayed twice this way:
-volume0 ---volume0p1 ---volume0p2 ---volume0p3 -volume0p1 ---volume0p1 -volume0p2 ---volume0p2 -volume0p3 ---volume0p3 we tried before to mount the three first displayed partitions, then the second time we tried with the second ones but the result was always the following: we completed successfully the installation, then at reboot we reached the grub loader, selected the kernel to boot and then got stuck with the prompt: BusyBox v1.18.5 (Ubuntu 1:1.18.5-1ubuntu2) built-in shell (ash) Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands. (initramfs) we also tried the installation using the alternate since it is indicated for "LVM and/or RAID partitioning" (even if we installed 11.10 with live cd) but in this case we reached the point where he asks to activate raid partitions, we say yes but then at partition time we see no partitions at all and no disk. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/973147 Title: ubuntu 12.04 beta 2 raid 1 hardware cannot install To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/973147/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
