To #20 I now can confirm that installing the packages linux-headers-3.0.0-18.31-lp883441-generic_3.0.0-18.31-lp883441_i386.deb and linux-image-3.0.0-18.31-lp883441-generic_3.0.0-18.31-lp883441_i386.deb fixes the bug on my machine mentioned in the first post of this bug report.
