This was a clean install of feisty on new hard drives from the final version of the Feisty alternate CD.
Originally I just used the restricted driver manager to enable the nvidia driver, then I just did the updates via synaptic. After the -16 kernel update, where I had installed the restricted drivers and the nvidia-glx-new (and the nvidia didn't work) I went round and round installing/unintalling and trying the three different versions of the nvidia driver, all using synaptic. I never tried t use the Nvidia binary driver from nvidia. I never tried anything like automatix or easy ubuntu.
