could you please plug your Android phone in, execute the following at the 
Terminal, and post it to this report:

As well, does this problem occur with other usb devices or just the
Android?

  file copy dialog closes but file isn't actually written on the drive. I 
manually remove the usb drive and when i plug it in again, file system becomes 
"read-only". I'm using a PCI USB 2.0 HUB and there is no problem with other 
external drives using different file systems such as NTFS or ext4.
