** Description changed: (Filed in summary on behalf of Gord Allott requirement). This is for HUD, so we present the menu items of nautilus when you have the desktop focused, normally we show whatever icon the application uses, but in the case of the desktop, it does not have an icon, so we need a kind of "default" icon for the Ubuntu Desktop. The Nautilus icon is not quite appropriate. One possibility would be to use: - /usr/share/icons/ubuntu-mono-dark/places/128/user-desktop.png + /usr/share/icons/ubuntu-mono-dark/places/128/user-desktop.png but abstracted via a new symlink such as "hud-default-desktop" which can be updated independently to the code. + + ===== + + According to John Lea the BFB icon should be used as fallback: + https://code.launchpad.net/~3v1n0/unity/hud-invalid-icon- + fix/+merge/100318/comments/216420
