Rachana is GPL, it could use Nimbus Sans's or Free Sans' Latin script which are GPL. But I'm not sure what's the point of copying the Latin script glyphs of another font if the resulting glyphs are not different. Most Linux software uses fontconfig for font substitution for missing characters or users can select the appropriate font. Another option is to draw new glyphs.
