Very very likely to be a bad cache file. Cache files are now checked for correct length, so this must be an invalid value written somewhere. This in turn might indicate a hardware error in RAM or harddisk. (The reason being that we get that in CheckDep()/VerStr() while opening a cache file, so there's no connection to Python whatsoever)
