I really don't understand this way of managing bug reports. I am not going to test ubuntu 12.04 until it is released and I am not going to test the upstream kernel ever. Am I lazy? Perhaps. Is this a reason to close a bug? I don't think so.
This way a lot bugs just expire not only without having been fixed but without even having been addressed. Unless they get reported again and again. This should work the other way round. A bug should be closed only after someone has verified that it is fixed. Most probably, this will expire, and in a few months I will be experiencing it again in 12.04 and reporting (or reopening) it again. I've seen this happen again and again with other bugs that have stayed unsolved for years.
