Public bug reported: The Software Center does not remember the "Sort by" setting, when searching through the Center.
To Replicate this issue: 1. Open Software Center 2. Search for an application eg "paint" 3. Note it is set to sort "by Relevance" by default.. change to sort "by Top Rated" 4. Go to more information for an app.. look at a screenshot etc 5. press the back button 6. Note it has now been reset back to "by Relevance" breaking the flow of applications you were browsing. This does not occur when browsing catagories and it seems to remember the setting fine.
