Brian, I was not familiar with the term "symlinked" so I looked it up. Does the output I got tell me that /dev/dvd is symlinked to /dev/hdc? If so, hdc is my cdrom drive and hdd is my DVD-ROM drive. Should I change the symlink to "ln -s /dev/hdd /dev/dvd" to symlink /dev/hdd to /dev/dvd????
Again, Thanks for the help...RG On Thu, 2007-05-31 at 21:12 +0000, Brian Murray wrote: > Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu > better. mplayer uses '/dev/dvd' as the default device when trying to > play DVDs.
