Public bug reported:

Scenario: I have configured several profiles in gnome-terminal for ssh-
connections to different hosts. Now I'd like to open a new tab with a
specific profile.

Steps to reproduce: Press Alt to open hud, then enter a few letters from
the profile name.

For some profiles, “Open tab“ shows up as the first result, and for
others it is “Open terminal”. Now take the latter case (see attached
screen shot), but I want to open a new tab, not a window.

So after entering part of the profile name, I press the down arrow to
select “Open tab”, and then the Return key.

Expected result: A new tab opens with the selected profile.

Actual result: A now tab *and* a new window opens, so apparently the
first *and* the second entry have been executed.

Note: If I click on the intended item with the mouse pointer, it works
as expected.
