I forgot to mention that Goldstar is the old name of LG corporation. For people who are connecting a TV and getting modes (resolution+refresh rate)s which are not actually supported by their TV, and/or are not getting modes which are supported by their TV, there is a patch in the just-released 3.3 kernel to add EDID support for CEA video modes. Several people have reported gaining additional, much wanted modes. A PPA of this kernel is available at http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel- ppa/mainline/
