This is probably more of a support query (see https://answers.launchpad.net/ ) 
than a bug report and you may get a quicker/better answer posting your query 
over there. My guess though is that your monitor DPI settings are either not 
being correctly read by the NVIDIA binary driver or your monitor is lying about 
its screen size.

Just out of interest how did you install the NVIDIA binary driver? Can you 
include the output of
dpkg -l nvidia-\* | grep ii
xdpyinfo
? Can you also add the contents of
/etc/X11/xorg.conf
and
/var/log/Xorg.0.log
and tell us what the physical width and height of your screen is in millimetres 
as measure by you?
