Thanks for such a quick response, this is now fixed. I did as you suggested and found that hp-systray was not running. I tried to start it and found that something had not been installed (sorry, I was in a rush and don't recall what that was). Downloaded the missing package and all working again - and the HP icon is in the systray, which I do not remember seeing for quite a while.
