Public bug reported: After one of the last dist-upgrades for Ubuntu Precise an fsck is now done on every boot. Booting succeeds with no fsck errors reported. However after the system came up tune2fs says that the disk is not clean.
Booting the machine in recovery mode and doing a manual fsck in this mode does not help either. Directly after that manual fsck tune2fs says that the disk is clean. However a manual fsck is run again at the next boot. Nothing is written to logfiles in /var/log/fsck ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: e2fsprogs 1.42-1ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-18.28-generic 3.2.9 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-18-generic i686 ApportVersion: 1.94.1-0ubuntu1 Architecture: i386 Date: Fri Mar 9 11:44:27 2012 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu-Netbook 10.04 "Lucid Lynx" - Release i386 (20100429.4) ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: e2fsprogs UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to precise on 2011-12-31 (68 days ago) ** Affects: e2fsprogs (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 precise -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/950723 Title: fsck done on every boot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/e2fsprogs/+bug/950723/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
