Hi, thank you for the bug. As far as I can conduct from your description, this is a bug in ubiquity. I think I saw a similar bug before, but I can't find it right now. But could you please run the installer again anyway and attach /var/log/syslog and /var/log/partman (as described at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingUbiquity/AttachingLogs)? Thank you very much.
