Same bug in Fedora 16.
My hotkeys on my Thinkpad R61 don't seem to be working because I think X11
(with the NVidia Drivers are overwriting them)

I look at the message logs and i get

[ 414.861594] thinkpad_acpi: procfs hotkey: PID 3522: set mask to
0x0000ffbf

>From "dmesg"

and in the log file
/var/log/Xorg.0.log
[ 414.861] (II) NVIDIA(0): Registered for mobile display change hotkey events.

Same time stamp every time so I can only assume that it is the NVIDIA
driver that is setting it.

I tried to add a modprobe configuration file:
options thinkpad_acpi hotkey=0x008dffff
but it gets run RIGHT before Nvidia modifies it

[ 407.348701] thinkpad_acpi: procfs hotkey: PID 2710: set mask to 0x008dffff
(from dmesg)

Also tried to add the following two lines in xorg.conf

  # Keyboard settings to make it work with my buttons
  Option "ConnectToAcpid" "False"
  Option "EnableACPIHotkeys" "False"

With no success.
