By adding options snd-hda-intel model=acer or acer-aspire to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf I can confirm that I get sound from both headphone jack and speakers which seems to work fine, but I can not select the analogue mode for 4.0, 4.1, 5.0 or 5.1 surround, nor does the sound test operate. Only have Stereo sound. The Acer Apsire 8930 has a 5.1 surround system.
If I set the model=auto I can choose the sound mode and the speaker test works find, but the headphone jack detect fails. ** Summary changed: - Speaker Sound does not disable when Headphones are connected.
