Public bug reported:

Aesthetic bug.

I installed Synaptic through the provided repos. I see that it's menus
do not appear in the Unity bar at the top. (What do I call that bar?)

Synaptic is still very useful and important for long time users of
Ubuntu. I prefer it over the slow Software Center.
