It looks like that patch was applied to upstream linux-stable in the following commit:
2d25f8b462f3b849d8913d02978657ef06e67dd8 Bluetooth: Add Atheros AR3012 one PID/VID supported This commit has also made it into 12.04(Precise). Do you still see this bug with the latest Precise kernel?
