I booted up the ux31 with live usb using the latest 32-bit Ububtu desktop, version 11.10, I believe. I can run the live usb, no network even though I have wired lan connection and wifi connection. The Wifi connection did ask for password and SSID, but not able to connect anything.
I subsequently installed Ubuntu using the live USB, but was unable to get any network connection whatsoever. Thanks for your response. I am still search high and low for any post to get this resolved. With the Asus UX31, Windows 7 is fast, but I loved Ubuntu even more, hardly take any time to start and very response. I am very sad that I cannot get the networking going.
